چکیده
Background/Aim. A special feature of coronary heart disease (CHD) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is that it often a symptomatic and occurs as consequence cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy. Dysregulation the nervous system associated elevated values inflammatory markers such high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) interleukin- 6 (IL-6), which accelerate atherosclerosis occurrence complications T2DM. The aim study was to evaluate importance determining risk IL-6 hs-CRP screening for presence CHD asymptomatic Methods. included 169 T2DM without any symptoms signs CHD. Ergometric testing proved or ruled out silent levels hs- CRP were determined by ELISA. Results. significantly higher positive ergometric test (6.83 ? 1.99 pg/mL) compared negative (3.04 1.39 (p < 0.001). We also found (6.37 2.25 vs 1.67 1.41 mg/L; p Combinations age, HbA1c values, duration diabetes, presented through three binary logistic regression models, are significant predictors proven testing, ie, their increase, probability increases 0.01). sensitivity finding detection 90%, specificity 86%. Conclusion. Hs-CRP CHD, determination could be recommended improving stratification

Risk factors for silent myocardial ischemia in high-risk type 1 diabetic patients.
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of mortality in people with type 1 diabetes. Silent myocardial ischemia (SMI) is common in this population (1), and a large body of evidence attests to the high diagnostic yield of stress myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) for the prediction of major coronary events (2,3). However, screening all patients with stress MPI is not practical and sho...
متن کاملRelationship between erectile dysfunction and silent myocardial ischemia in apparently uncomplicated type 2 diabetic patients.
BACKGROUND Erectile dysfunction (ED) is associated with coronary artery disease (CAD). In diabetic patients, CAD is often silent. Among diabetic patients with silent CAD, the prevalence of ED has never been evaluated. We investigated whether ED is associated with asymptomatic CAD in type 2 diabetic patients. METHODS AND RESULTS We evaluated the prevalence of ED in 133 uncomplicated diabetic m...
متن کاملOsteoprotegerin, thiazolidinediones treatment, and silent myocardial ischemia in type 2 diabetic patients.
Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) are widely prescribed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. They were reported to have vasculoprotective properties like a reduction in carotid artery intima-media thickness progression (1) but may also reduce bone formation and favor bone loss (2,3). The decoy receptor osteoprotegerin, a member of the receptor activator of nuclear factorB ligand/osteoprotegerin system...
متن کاملApplication of Anatomical and Functional Modalities in Detection of Silent Myocardial Ischemia in Asymptomatic Diabetic Patients- A Review Article
Cardiovascular disease (CAD) screening in asymptomatic patients with diabetes mellitus is controversial. An exercise stress test is a safe and effective initial testing for Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) screening. Treadmill stress test is not the best screening method for a particular patient who is not able to exercise, abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) or positive exercise treadmill test (ETT) ...
متن کاملLipid levels as predictors of silent myocardial ischemia in a type 2 diabetic population in Havana.
INTRODUCTION Silent myocardial ischemia is frequent in type 2 diabetics, therefore, symptoms cannot be relied upon for diagnosis and followup in these patients. Various studies relate blood lipid levels to cardiovascular diseases, and several authors describe certain lipoproteins as independent predictors of ischemia. OBJECTIVE Identify blood lipid levels that predict silent myocardial ischem...
